Santa Wore Leathers by Vonnie Davis

I had the privilege of reading "Santa Wore Leathers" by Vonnie Davis for my 12 Days of Sizzling Review.

The fun part of this book is it is where I live...... a fact I didn't know when I picked it.  Becca Sinclair is a reporter for a Clearwater Fl paper, she really wants to get a colum but for now  she lives  with her German Shepard Einstein (who is hysterical and has  a big part in the book) and  blogs about her life and the "man whore" who moved in next door.  Since her divorce, Becca doesn't have much use for men.

Dan ‘Wolf’ Wolford, ex Navy Seal, current commander of the  Florida Marine Rescue Unit.  From Becca's eyes, he is the ultimate man whore....... all sorts of woman coming and going from his place.  When Wolf turns his attention on Becca, she uses all her humor and snark to keep him away, but Einstein seems to take a liking to Wolf.... personally delivering Becca's thongs to him and forcing them into more encounters than Becca would like........ until she starts to see the man beneath the perception she has.

Becca wants NOTHING to do with Wolf or the Christmas season...... she is still smarting from her divorce, while Wolf does nothing small...... his Christmas is over the top in every way, and when Becca learns about the stream of woman that are around Wolf, she understands why.

This is truly a book about family, friendship and love..... with a seriously hot ex-seal.  Becca and Wolf both overcome a lot to be with each other.  For a short novella, there is quite a lovely, sweet, funny, sexy story.  Perfect holiday read.

Romeo and Juliet of the mob world, that is what Devon Andre and Leighton Moore are. There families have been at war for years. Both know they can't be together because of it. In reality they don't care. The heart wants what it wants.

When Leighton and Devon are put in extraordinary circumstances everything comes full circle for these two. They have no choice but to admit their love for one another.... now what or will they do about it?

 photo chain_zps4f4e8ffa.png

This book has everything you would expect in a mob love story..... family, loyalty, intrigue, murder, revenge.... These two know they were born tainted by the world they live in. Question is, how far will they go to be together? Will the family history stand in their way?

There are some great shockers in this book. I can't give too much away because it will ruin the plot for you, but trust me, it is a great modern day take on forbidden love, that I happened to enjoy very much.

Beautiful Failure

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is all about the emotion..... Our Heroine Emerald is a no nonsense girl. Raised by a hooker mother who only paid any attention to her when they were drinking or drugging, what other option did she have? She doesn't get close to anyone.... no friends, no ties to anyone, just uses people for what she needs and moves on.

Until a tragic event sends her to live with her grandparents...Emerald is forced to face her demons. A girl that has no idea how to function in real life... can't hold a job, can't function without a drink, what the hell can she do? Fired from her umpteenth job she hooks up with a "friend" that turns her on to stripping.

Emerald has always been a writer, since she first picked up a pencil. That is all she is good at and all she wants to do and all she knows she can do.

Writing has kept her grounded through it all....

Enter Carter. God, I wanted more of Carter. He is really a mystery to me through most of the book. He wants Emerald and nothing is going to stop him from getting her. Hot, sweet, sexy, caring... "swoon worthy" Carter.

Truly, this book is about growth. This book is about coming to terms with who you are, letting people in and going after what you want in life.

This book is about Emeralds journey from drunk and alone to a full life.

There are points in this book I just wanted to smack Emerald, but her bitch attitude is so intricate to who she is and who she can become.

Her journey was a great read for me. I hope you give it a try and enjoy it as much as I did.

Sex. Love. Repeat.Sex. Love. Repeat. by Alessandra Torre
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"All great things are preceded by chaos."

I love a lot of books. This book surpasses my norm. It is a phenomenal read. It is so much more than what you think reading the synopsis.

Madison is in love with two men.... Stewart. The guy that doesn't have time for anything but his fast paced high power job and Paul, the sweet surfer that cares about nothing but Mad's happiness. They know about one another, and are OK with the situation. But it so isn't what it seems. It isn't your standard girl screws around with two boys. It is built on such a wonderful story that touches all three in such a surprising way.

There is no way to tell you the full impact of this book without giving it away. Not many books make my jaw drop and shock me... this one did. In such a good way.

Alessandra has a plot that is so original, that has so much impact it is a treasure in itself. I've never read another book like it.

The sex is super hot but there is so much emotion between these 3. It's loving, compassionate, touching, hot, romantic....it grabs all the senses, all the right spots.

Paul is sweet, loving, dominant... Stewart wants only what is best for Maddy when he isn't around to satisfy her in the bedroom, and he thinks the other man in her life is it. He is happy fitting in where he can. Or is he? Is Paul what's best for Mad, or is Stewart?

You just have to trust me on this. READ IT. You will not regret it. When I say this book isn't what you think, I truly mean it. Alessandra has done a stellar job with these characters.

One of the best books I've read all year. LOVE IT. I put 10 stars because if I could that is what I would give it.

Working It (Love by Design, #1)

Working It (Love by Design, #1)
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Working It – Kendall Ryan

Well fuck me running…. Talk about a hot little read!! It’s all here….. Including a threesome with a happy APA piercing!

Emmy is from a small town in Tennessee; she finishes college and moves to the Big Apple to get involved in the fashion industry. She lands an awesome job with the boss from hell. Fiona is Anna Wintour for sure. It has a bit of “The Devil Wears Prada” feel.

Ben, the agency’s golden boy sees the small town Emmy with her down-home ways, regular K-Mart clothes, and the need to feed him and take care of him and is immediately smitten with the curvy real girl that saves him from the green drinks and feeds him beer and blueberry muffins.

These two have a chemistry that burns up the pages. No two ways about it, Ms. Ryan knows her smut.

Ben is jaded by the business. He has never had a girlfriend, just a girl in every city. He has been exposed to the fashion world since he was a child and has never had anyone want him for him. The man under the chiseled features and what is seen on the glossy magazine covers. For all of his fighting he isn’t boyfriend material, he needs to possess Emmy in every way. Not only in the bedroom (and he does that very well.)

Fiona has had her hooks in Ben from before he signed with the Agency. She “owns” him. Fiona is really a piece of work. She keeps Ben to herself and the growing relationship between Emmy and Ben could cause major problems for Emmy. Fiona’s possessiveness could cost Emmy her job if the secret gets out.

Fiona makes Ben keep secrets. Emmy has no tolerance for that. She finds out that Ben has kept the worst secret possible from her about his relationship with Fiona. When Emmy finds out, she can’t deal and it looks like the end.

Will Ben win her back? Will Fiona get her way and keep Ben to herself? Can Emmy forgive Ben’s secrets? I’m not going to tell you…… you’ll have to read this hot little number for yourself.

There is a “hanging thread” at the end that leads me to believe there will be a book two for this book. There is also a wonderful story in the book that includes Ben’s model buddy Bray. Trust me; you don’t want to miss that……. (Hint, enter the APA piercing)

A great little story with a lot of hot sex that is worth the read.
My only issues with the book are that there is a little too much given away in the beginning. I didn’t think that was necessary. Also, the story line could have been a little deeper. I would have liked to spend more time with Ben and Emmy’s relationship and where it is going and how it all develops.

Truly looking forward to the next!

Edge of Obsession by Adriana Noir

Edge of Obsession (SKALS, #3)
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one of the best series I've ever read. Yes, it's brutal and sometimes tough to take but my Lord, the story is so gripping you just have to keep reading!

This is the continuing story of Sebastian and Tay, how they are coping after book 2, what Sebby will do to keep his family safe not only from the enemy but now his own team. He wants to be happy and build a life with Taylor..Will Marx let it happen? Will anyone survive the upheaval?

It's so hard to say what's actually going to happen, but the way Adri has set this book up we are in for a hell of a battle in book 4!!! CAN'T WAIT!!

"Welcome to SKALS. I suggest you strap yourself in, cupcake. You just entered the ninth circle of hell." … no truer words!

**Please know, you need a pretty strong resolve for this series. Not all will be able to handle it. Please be fair to the wonderful author and don't read/review if the dark and twisted are not in your reading likes.
